About Us

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley is a one to one youth mentoring program for children ages 6-16 who live in Scott and Rock Island County. 87% of the children served by BBBSMV and their volunteers come from low income homes. Helping these children who are most vulnerable is imperative in our community. One to one mentoring is achieving great outcomes with their Littles. Last year 68% of the children in the program improved in their self-confidence, 54% improved in their decision making abilities, 58% improved in self motivation and 89% either stayed the same or improved in their overall academic performance. Youth mentoring is one of the key ways to help end generational poverty in our community.

There are more than 200 children waiting to be matched at any given point in time. We need your time and your financial resources to help ignite the potential that we believe is in each and every child.
