Waste Commission of Scott County Electronic Demanufacturing Facility Open House & Ribbon Cutting

Please help the Waste Commission of Scott County Electronic Demanufacturing Facility celebrate its R2 Certification with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, August 23^rd at 9:30am.  The Open House hours are 9:30am to 11:30am, with the official ribbon cutting at 9:30am.  The location is 1048 E. 59^th Street – north on Brady to 53^rd, right on 53^rd; go ½ mile then left on Carey Ave to dead end/cul-de-sac; go to 2^nd building.

This is the first public agency in the world and first in Iowa to receive Responsible Recycling (R2) Certification, meaning a third party ensures they are properly managing toxic materials and conducting downstream auditing on vendors.  They adhere to strict environmental, health, safety and security aspects of electronic recycling as well.
