Spring Forward Learning Center, 2101 6th Ave. Rock Island, IL 61201, will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, June 23 at 10am to celebrate their move to the RI School District Administration Building. SFLC provides free after-school and summer programming for students in grade K-6 in the RI-Milan School District who are struggling academically. Program volunteers include retired nurses, educators, health managers, journalists, as well as college students and other professionals who together have more than 500 years of experience working with children. These volunteers donate more than 3,000 hours every year to support this nonsectarian program. While the main focus continues to be free after-school tutoring and mentoring to youth in need, SFLC strives to ensure that the families that SFLC serves have access to additional resources that will help their children succeed.
