Mid City High School Ribbon Cutting

The Davenport Community School District will hold a ribbon cutting and open house at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30. To showcase the new location of Mid City High School. 

For several years, the Davenport Community School District had discussed the possibility for the new site of Davenport's alternative high school, formerly known as the Kimberly Center.  After researching numerous possibilities, the district purchased the 37,355 square foot facility, previously used as a medical office complex, for $2.5 million.  Renovations began on the new location in May of this year.  Construction crews worked double shifts to complete the project before the start of the 2014-2015 school year. 

Mid City High has been designed as a 21^st - century learning environment, offering opportunities to easily change classroom configurations from the traditional classroom setting to a collaborative learning space that's ideal for project team based learning.
