Using the Business Model Canvas as Your Road Map to Innovation

To remain competitive in today's business environment, companies of all sizes need to embrace the kind of entrepreneurial spirit associated with a startup. To have an entrepreneurial mindset means being in touch with your customers, being agile, seeking out new opportunities, being innovative, and most importantly being willing to take calculated risks. Kurt Heiar will give you some tips and tools on how to create new opportunities by spotting emerging technology trends, diving into new markets or developing new products. Kurt is a University of Iowa faculty lecturer, lead Instructor for UI’s Venture School Program, and serial entrepreneur, focusing in the bioinformatics, pharmaceutical, and medical service industries.

AMp Up will prepare, inspire, and equip you to challenge the status quo and be a part of evolving our region into the kind of cool, creative, connected and prosperous place that comes with bragging rights. This bi-monthly program will combine personal leadership development and community engagement to arm participants with skills and insight to affect change in their personal, professional and civic endeavors.

*Please be aware that online registration will close at 2pm on Tuesday, January 17th. Walk-ins will be accepted at the door.*
